Some R&R Time

Well I’ve made it safely back to the Pacific Northwest and I’ve spent the last two weeks getting re-acclimated. Well, and taking some time to …

Walk On

Walk On

Between December 1 and December 25, I walk/jogged 25 miles. Since then, nada. Christmas and New Year’s got in the way, and now that the year is really in full swing I find myself trying to catch up with work and other things since I’ll be leaving Texas soon.

My trainer recently emailed me about a new program she is beginning in February. She is going to train and work with me and a group of other people to complete the Whidbey Island Half Marathon. Ever since I moved to the island I’ve wanted to do this race, however I’ve psyched myself out or failed to train each year so far. So, when I got her note I said yes right away. She already worked up a plan and I’m excited to get started.

Now, since I’ve been sleeping late and shorting Ms. McGee on her walks, I guess I better get with it and get moving again. I’m in Texas for a little more than a week more, I’m going to try to do at least a mile a day before Chris and I set out for our cross country trek.

Thank You Very Much 2008!

Thank You Very Much 2008!

My 2008 new year’s resolution is to be more grateful. I am going to record things I’m thankful for all year. I’m also going to set some goals for myself — not so much as resolutions but more as things I want to accomplish this year.

  • Learn to play piano. I found a keyboard that works with my new Mac. I took piano for two years when I was in high school, so it should just be a matter of relearning what I learned then.
  • Take more photos. I want to take more photos this year than I did last year and invigorate my photography hobby. I got a new tripod for Christmas and I think I will invest in some lighting equipment soon.
  • Paint something at least once a month. I also haven’t done any significant painting since last spring. My cousin just asked me to paint something for her bedroom and I think I’ll use that request as a launch pad to breaking out my paints.
