There was a time when I wrote a lot about my fitness and health endeavors. I decided to quit, mostly because I quit working out and eating well and didn’t have much to say about it. Well, I’ve begun working out again–and I have been steadily working with a trainer since May–so I’ve decided to open up and start writing about it again.
I have made progress since May, however it has been slow going, one because healthy weight loss is slow, but also because I haven’t changed my nutrition. I’ve eaten everything and anything I’ve wanted and I have still made progress but have seen no weight loss. There are other things to measure success, body fat percentage, blood pressures and measurements. I’ve lost a few inches and 3 percent of my body fat, but I still weigh the same.
Recently, I decided to rejoin Weight Watchers to help me get back into portion control and better eating habits. Last week, I lost 4 pounds. It feels good to see something happening–but I must admit I hate all the counting and dieting. I know it must be a lifestyle change. I’m going to stick with the program for a bit; however, I’d rather be able to eat normally–no counting or restricting but just eat well and make good choices. My next weigh in is tomorrow (it’s usually Mondays). I lost control of my points Saturday and Sunday and I’m worried that there will be a gain or a stall. If so, no big deal, just keep on going to the gym and reminding myself how important this process is for my health and happiness.
