Growth: this week’s PhotoFriday theme.
Sometimes growth occurs in a flash–like an explosion. This happens when we aren’t aware of the everyday increments of change, or when we have a moment of satori—sudden awareness.
Growth, however, is a gradual process even if we aren’t always paying attention. When we have lived through enough experiences, like a child learning to walk who falls repeatedly, it seems like we suddenly understand how it works. But without all of those bumps and bruises–without the practice and preparation–we wouldn’t have learned to walk.
Falling is painful and it’s frustrating as an adult when you try and don’t succeed. However, without the gradual incremental effort, success would not be able to occur. Like a good boy scout, being prepared and making the effort to invest in your own growth establishes the channel in which God can make miracles happen.
