The Only Constant is Change

November 27th, 2007 | 1 Comment | Posted in Administrative, Personal Notes

I’m know, I know. I’m constantly rearranging my furniture around here–I hope it doesn’t put my readers off to much. It is my hope that you enjoy my rotating design as much as I do. I like to play with change and this is less permanent than a bad hair cut or dying my hair.

The new addition, Living Juicy TV is very exciting. I’m not sure what gems of web video fun I’ll find out there in the world but surely I can find something entertaining at least. When web video first began to come on to the scene I wasn’t thrilled about it. I’ve been reading the Internet for so long the idea of listening (podcasts) or watch (webcast) seemed wrong. I didn’t want noise and video, I was a written word purist. Over the past few months, along with the explosion of viral videos, I’ve become addicted. You may have noticed an increase in the number of videos I’ve embedded here on this blog. This was a significant turn around in my thinking about the web. Now, I’ve joined the ranks and have launched my own little Living Juicy YouTube channel and I’m excited, if not a little frightened, by the prospect of communicating through voice and picture.

In addition to this YouTube thing, I’ve stated using Skype to talk to my mother. Computer to computer we can connect and talk any time. It’s similar to using a phone but for some reason I’m more incline to dial her up on the computer than pick up the phone. Plus, I get the pleasure of seeing her face since she has a webcam. Technology can be pretty fun.

Now, I’m going to spend December and some of January in Texas and I’m hoping to stay connect to home through my little videos–I’m hoping it makes the distance seem a little less since I’ll be gone for so long. I’m looking forward to my time in Texas but my heart will remain in Washington.
