It’s been almost a year since I’ve painted. I love to paint, but it’s been hard to make time for it, especially since I didn’t have a place to paint. My supplies weren’t easily accessible and painting meant clearing off a table temporarily as a workspace. So, I just haven’t gotten around to it, but I’ve missed it.
So, a few weekends ago I reorganized my office and created work areas. Now, finally I have place I can set up my easel and palette, leave stuff out to dry and have a place for all of my supplies. And this weekend, I painted. I started by finishing a painting started the last time I painted.
I’ve titled it “Established Oak” and it is on 11×14 canvas with painted edges. It’s based on a photo I took of a tree-lined street in my home town. My next project is ambitious, much larger and much more detailed. I’m excited about it, but also having only begun, feel a bit daunted. I’m planning on making more regular time for my painting, including considering a standard Friday night date for painting.
